    Minister Brenda Davis

    May 12, 1946 - March 16, 2022

Minister Brenda J. Davis was born on Mother’s Day, May 12, 1946 to the late Henry Criscoe and Elizabeth Tyson, she closed her eyes and went to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at her residence in Durham, North Carolina. She graduated from Dudley High School. She was a member of McCormick Chapel AME Zion Church under the leadership of Dr. Judy V. Johnson. After relocating to Durham, NC, she joined Bethel Fellowship Church in Durham, NC, under the leadership of Pastor Otis W. Wiley. Knowing Brenda was a gift in itself. To have experienced her in her element was a joy, as she was gifted with many talents. Hearing her stories, learning from her experiences, and having her knowledge poured into you as freely as all gifts that will continue to enrich the loves of those she has touched. Brenda was a woman of God, and she was never afraid to say so. Not a day went by where she didn’t express her gratitude to God for putting her on his earth and allowing her to live the full life she lived. She was also an incredibly persistent woman, seeking out what she wanted and obtaining it. Even after she stopped performing, she continued to love the arts and never stopped entertaining those around her; her infectious laughter and endless love brought joy to every life she touched, and the warmth she embraced with every fiber of her being poured out of her home. Those left on earth to cherish and carry on her memories are her husband, David Davis I, three children; Lisa Acevedo-Wiggs, Renee Acevedo and Gary Acevedo; six grandchildren; Amber Wiggs, Dallas Wiggs-LaCroix, Tristan Wiggs; Veronica Acevedo and Rachel Acevedo-Obie and Julian Acevedo, three great-grandchildren; Sylar and Joseph Smalls and Augustin LaCroix, one son-in-law, Isaiah S. Wiggs III, one daughter-in-law, Janelle Acevedo, one grandson-in-law, Kelechi LaCroix, other beloved relatives and many friends.
