It is with great sorrow that we say farewell to Dr. Brenda Mae Talley. She was the second child born to the late Clarence, Sr. and Emma Corbett on June 18, 1945. She was proceeded and death by her husband, Lewis Ulysses Talley, Jr, seven brothers, James, Clarence, Jr., Jeffrey, Kenney, Bryant, Marvin, and Curtis. Dr. Talley was well known for her meticulous taste in clothing and her debonair style. But she was most known for her huge heart and love for God, family, friends, ministry, and associates. Dr. Talley received her education from in the Baltimore City Public Schools (Booker T. Washington and Fredrick Douglass High, and CCB). She received her Undergraduate and Graduated and Doctoral degrees from at the Family Bible Institute, College and Seminary in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Talley was always employed over the years but retired from Bon Secous Hospital as a Lab Tech Phlebotomist October 1998, 25 years and The University of Maryland Medical Center, IV Tech and instructor 1998-2008. Dr. Talley accepted the Lord as her personal Savior in 1976. She served under great pastors, Rev. Lydia Starks, Bishop Christine Spruells, and Rev. Virginia Wise. Her former assignment was at Gospel Tabernacle Baptist Church, Baltimore, Maryland under the leadership of Bishop Reginald Kenney where she served in the Prison Ministry, Women of Substance, and Loving Care Ministry. Her final assignment was served at New Life Ministries, Fayetteville, NC under the leadership of her daughter, Apostle Karen L Hale. Sher served in the following ministry areas: Ministerial Staff, Daughters of Destiny, President; Women of Virtue, President; Tree of Life Seniors, President; Sunday School, and Nursing Home Ministry. She was faithful, committed and dedicated to the Lord and New Life. She also served the community in many ways. She was affiliated with Encouragers Book Club, School Partnership, member of the United Baptist Convention and the Non-Denominations Alliance. Dr. Talley lived life to the fullest and loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Supporting them in their education, sports, concerts, awards and many other events. She was so proud of them all. She leaves to cherish her legacy: mother, Emma Corbett; two children, Vincent Brice and Karen Hale (Gregory); six grandchildren, LaKeisha (Marquis), Robert Jr., Donte (Damesha), Raymond, Brandon, and Malayna; 7 great grandchildren, Camiah, Charles, Marquis Jr., Courtney, Rylan, Rielle, and Ryan; three sisters, Patricia Matthew, Sandra Bay-Hines, Janice Johnson; one brother, Steven Corbett; sister-in-love, Wanda Bolling; four nieces, Sharon, Jackie (Zachery), Bridget (Ray), Melissa, Wanda, Domonique, Rhonda and Shirl; nephews, Gary, Andre, Ivan, Jay, Jamal, Alan Jr. and Brandon and a host of other nieces and nephews; god daughters, Rita; Phyllis, Terry, Tracy, LaDonna; special daughters, Valerie, Sandria, Mary, Linette, Linda, Stephanie D, Hope; special sons, David, Harold, and Bernard; devoted friends, Martha, Erma, Dee, Annette, Lyn, Min. Shepherd and Sue; as well as a host of relatives and friends.
