Mr. Bruce Thompson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Bruce Christopher Thompson was born June 9, 1971 to Patricia Mills and was raised by Lee Oscar and Nancy Thompson. He departed his earthly life on July 5, 2022. Bruce was educated in the Cumberland County School System and is a 1989 graduate of Douglas Byrd Senior High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served proudly for many years. After a successful military career, Bruce received numerous certifications and was skilled in many areas including truck driving, auto body repair, HVAC, and general contracting. He owned several businesses over the years and could figure out how to fix anything. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Lakers fan and loved fishing, watching movies, grilling, and spending time with family and friends. If Bruce was around, there was sure to be a good time had by everyone in his presence, filled with laughs. He was preceded in death by his parents Lee Oscar and Nancy Thompson. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Shawanda M. Thompson; children: Bruce Thompson, Jr., DeTraveus (Coree) Forte, Rasheed Thompson, and Cierra Thompson; grandchildren: Josiah, Myelle, Kallum, Zenaire, and Champion; Parents, Patricia and Lee Chamblee, Grandparents: Sarah (Melvin) Thomas and Cornelia Forte; Mother-in-law, Audrey (Andrew) Bethune; Siblings: Josie (Tytwan) Williams, Kimberly Lee, Lee McPhatter, Jr., Lee Chamblee, Jr., and Charles Chamblee; sister-in-law: Kevona Bethune; special brother, Antonio Chavis; favorite cousin, Michael Covington; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. While his physical presence is no longer with us, he will forever remain in our hearts
