Mr. Frankie Lee Finney, Jr. was born in Macon, Georgia to Mrs. Della Mae and Mr. Frankie Lee Finney, Sr. A multifaceted, intelligent man of class and distinction, Frank graduated from Ballard Hudson High School, served in the U.S. Navy, successfully completed a three-year upholstery apprenticeship, and he was blessed to retire from a gainful Iron Worker’s career (Local 373) in the prime of his life. Frank was an “all-star” athlete his entire life and he won numerous awards in football, basketball, baseball, softball, track, and swimming. “Mr. Cool,” as many called him, was well known for his coordinated “runway fashions,” his love for fine jewelry, his detailed automobiles, and his keen sense of humor. Whether he was coaching his children to championships, fishing, racing, or appreciating the music that he loved so much, he believed in “playing to win!” He fought to win and taught us no defeat, and for the rest of our lives, he’s prepared us to live in victory! Frank was predeceased by his parents: Mrs. Della Mae and Mr. Frankie Lee Finney, Sr.; his sister, Lillian Finney; his uncles: Mr. Charlie, Mr. Roscoe, & Mr. L.C. Finney; his aunt, Ms. Vinie Finney; his Sister-In-Love, Mrs. Eugenia Coleman; his Grandson, Donnie L. Finney; and his granddaughter, Lauralin Finney. Left to cherish and apply his life’s lessons for victory are his spouse: Mrs. Cassandra M. Finney; his brother, Mr. Earnest Finney; his former spouse and mother of all of his six children, Ms. Vivian Finney; his five sons & only daughter- Mr. Don Finney, Rev. Antonio Finney, Mr. Zola Finney, Mr. Verne Finney, Retired Sgt.-Maurice Finney, and Rev. Dr. Sybil Finney; his Daughter-In-Love, Mrs. Irma Finney; Three nieces: Mrs. Nekitia Jackson, Mrs. Sheridan Robinson, & Mrs. Ursula Evans; Seven Grandchildren: Hadassah, Nima-Athafiy, Maurice Jr., Jenessa-Mari, Ramon, Jordan and Ashley; Two Great-Grandchildren: Gi’yanna and Kai; Two Great-Nephews: Charles III and Anthony; One Great-Great Niece, Kayden; Sister-In-Law, Mrs. Barbara Deloatch (Tommy); and a host of extended family and friends. From heart to heart and from day to day, the love of “Madaddy,” aka “The General,” aka “The Superstar,” will forever live amongst us, in so very many ways.
