June 15, 1949 - March 16, 2021
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. -2 Timothy 4:7 On Tuesday, March 16, 2021, God reached out his hand and called his daughter, Lois Jeanette Love home. He saw she was weak and weary, and her work here was finished. Lois Jeanette Jones Love, affectionately known as “Jeanette,” was born June 15, 1949 in Lumberton, NC to the late King Solomon Jones and Theresa Ford Jones. Jeanette graduated from South Lumberton Junior Senior High School in Lumberton, NC. She, then attended Selina College in Lumberton, NC and worked as a tax preparer. She was a lifelong and faithful member of Bethany Presbyterian Church where she served as Church Treasurer, Girl Scout Troop Leader and a member of The Progress Garden Club. In 1971, she was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life, Charles Edward Love (“Preacher”) for over 49 years together and from that union, she was blessed with three daughters whom she loved and adored dearly. Jeanette was a faithful, devoted, loving wife, sister, aunt and friend who was compassionate and was defined by her giving spirit. She was always generous without wanting praises or rewards just the satisfaction of helping others. She always had her girls with her everywhere and loved working with her Girl Scout Troop. She truly adored her grandchildren until her health failed and will always be affectionately known as Grannie. She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Charles Edward Love (“Preacher”) of the home, daughters; Joy Love of Durham, NC, Malinda Love of Durham, NC and April Love of Lumberton, NC.; sister, Cathy McCall ((Henry)of Lumberton, NC; brothers, King Solomon Jones Jr. (Wanda) and her twin, Gene Jones (Dianne) of Lumberton, NC;six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, King Solomon Jones, and Theresa Ford Jones; brother, David Jones (Mary), sister, Peggy Lennon (Frank), and nephews Ronnie Jones and Timothy Jones. We acknowledge and extend a specials thank to all the Staff at Woodhaven Nursing Home and Southeastern Hospice Care who faithfully cared for our dear mother during her final journey. Professional Services entrusted to - Colvin Funeral Home, Lumberton, NC.
