Ms. Alexandria Berkley

Alexandria Berkley, 54, affectionately called "Sandy", a cherished soul with a heart full of love and laughter, passed away on September 2, 2026. Born on March 19, 1972, in the vibrant city of Chicago, she was the beloved daughter of Clarence and Josephine Berkley (Stuckey), who preceded her in death. Alexandria is survived by her younger brother, Brian (Crystal) Berkley and older sister, Kimberley Berkley, who hold her memory close to their hearts. Alexandria was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in the fall of 1983. Her dedication moved her to serve in Deaf and Spanish speaking congregations. From a young age, Alexandria displayed a remarkable aptitude for languages and a profound compassion for others, which guided her throughout her life. She graduated from Westover High School in 1990, and soon embarked on a career dedicated to supporting children and adults with special needs. Her journey began as a Sign Language Interpreter, where she touched countless lives through her ability to communicate with grace and understanding. Her career later evolved into Community Inclusion, where she worked tirelessly to help individuals with intellectual, developmental, and mental health disabilities participate in everyday life. Her dedication and warmth left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Alexandria’s passion for languages was boundless. She delighted in learning and mastering new tongues, each one a gateway to different cultures and perspectives. From American Sign Language to Spanish, Korean, Portuguese, and Norwegian, she immersed herself in the beauty of language through books, music, television, and later, language apps. Her love for languages was only matched by her love for people, as she often used her skills to bridge gaps and connect with others. Spending time with family and friends was an important part of Alexandria's life. She cherished every moment spent sharing meals and stories, her beautiful smile and contagious laugh lighting up the room. Her kindness and ability to find joy in simple pleasures were gifts she freely shared with those around her. In their heartfelt message, her siblings expressed the profound impact Alexandria had on their lives: "Beloved Sister, you were the laughter in our home, the light spilling through windows on winter mornings, the warmth of shared stories woven into the fabric of our days..." While she may no longer walk beside them, memories of Alexandria's kindness and joy will comfort her family and friends.
