Mr. Andrew Junior Bethune

Mr. Andrew Junior Bethune was born on March 9, 1952, in Fayetteville, North Carolina to the late Charlotte R. Bethune and Edison McKeller. June as he was affectionately known was raised in the Rockfish area and educated in the Cumberland County and Hoke County School Systems. He transitioned from this life to his heavenly home on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at his family homestead with his wife by his side. At an early age, Andrew joined Beauty Spot Baptist Church where he remained a member until he wed Audrey Bethune in 1983 and relocated to the township of Gray's Creek, North Carolina. Once there, he joined Willis Creek AME Zion Church where he remained a member until his passing. Andrew and Audrey were married on May 7, 1983, and they shared a heartfelt union for forty-one years. Andrew enjoyed life and loved his family dearly- especially his Queen Kevona. He loved cooking for his family as well as spending quality time outdoors. Andrew was an avid pool and card player; his favorite card game was Biz Wiz. Andrew took pride in his appearance and wherever he went, people complimented him on his smooth walk and impeccable style. Andrew worked various jobs over the years, but his passion was construction. Andrew worked in the construction industry for over forty-five- years, and he eventually became known as the "Stucco Master". In 1990, Andrew opened a small construction business called, Stucco Master Incorporated, where he worked up until two weeks prior to his passing. Andrew was preceded in death by his adoptive parents Gordon and Hattie Williams, Lewis and Catherine McRae; one sister: Myrtle Womack; one brother; James McAllister; In-Laws; William and Cornelia Forte; Son In-Law: Bruce C. Thompson Sr; and his favorite niece: Anika Bethune. He leaves to cherish his life and memories his wife: Audrey Bethune; three daughters: Shawanda Thompson, Kevona Bethune (Javion), and Jessica Brown, all of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren: DeTraveus Forte (Coree) of Greensboro, NC, Bruce Thompson Jr., Rasheed Thompson, and Cierra Thompson, all of Fayetteville, NC; and eight great-grandchildren. Andrew also leaves to cherish his life and memories five sisters: Doretha Bethune, Hazel Byrd, Kim McKeller, Lillie Council, and Clara Elliot; four brothers: Robert Bethune, Mark McKeller, Kevin McKeller, and Jessie Williams; one sister-in-law: Tabitha McDuffie; one brother-in-law Quincy Corbett; three aunts: Mary McKeller, Mary Pone, and Jacqueline Fort; three uncles: Mitchell McKeller, Edward Pone (Beverly), and Gerald Pone (Broxie); two special nieces: Anaya Forte and Iniece Bethune; two godsons: Aaron Morrison and Fairley D. Jones; special friends: Fairley Jones Jr., Joe Bryant, and Richard Thompson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

March 9, 1952 - June 15, 2024
