Mrs. Beulah Hawkins

Mrs. Beulah Hawkins was born in Lumberton, NC on September 8, 1951 to the late Shirley Hawkins and the late Arthur McCallum, Jr. Beulah departed this earthly life on August 9, 2024 at Southeastern Regional Hospital. Beulah was known by many names: Doomcom, Marie, Mother Marie, Mother Hawkins, Ma Dukes as well as momma and grandma. Beulah moved to Miami, Florida at a young age to be raised by her grandmother Lucy Blackmon Laster. She moved back to Lumberton, NC when her sons were young. Beulah worked at Carolina Foods for 10 years and retired in 2018 from Hardees after working there for 40 years. She attended Thompson Chapel under the leadership of Pastor James Abraham for years before attending Visionary Christian Life Center under the leadership of Pastor Malicia Bailey where she adored the love and teaching. Beulah loved the Lord. She loved attending and teaching Bible Study which was every day for her and her sister Deborah. Deborah would call her daily and they would stay on the phone for hours talking about the Lord. Beulah's favorite saying was "My Faith Will Not Waiver." She lived up to that saying even when she lost both of her sons. She knew God was going to take care of her through it all. Beulah is preceded in death by her parents, grandmother Lucy Blackmon Laster. Sons: Robert and Eric Johnson. Grandson: U'Shay "Pookie" Johnson. Granddaughter: Kierra Bell. Brother: Anthony Hawlins. Sisters: Paula Kay Hawkins, Deborah Townsend, and Debra Williams. Great-grandson;Khalil Eric Johnson. Beulah leaves her precious memories with her grandchildren Ty'Johnte Johnson, Miracle Johnson, Charletta Pope, Jakayla Taylor, Yakimean Johnson, Monnie Gaston, Sequion Johnson, Sincere Johnson, Carolyn Pope, Ty Hill, and Rhy Glover. Great-grandchildren: Kai'Anna, Ka Hari, Kylan, Kolton, Ja'Ky, Paisley, Va'Niya, BriElle, Sincere, Julian, Julianna, Joselina, Karsyn, Kane Kai'Dence, Ka'Mari, Ushay, Jr., Keelynn, Keyonn, Mikayah and Elijah. Brothers: Jerome Hawkins (Mary), James Hawkins. Sisters: Teresa Powell (Terrance), Arnetta and Claudette McCallum, and Elizabeth Jones. Brother-in-law: Samuel Townsend. Aunt: Diane O'Neill. Daughter-in-laws: Anita McLean Johnson and Nicole Willis Johnson. Godson: Rashad Govan. Her favorite cousin: Patricia Blackmon. Her fur babies: Shaft and GG. Her caregivers and family friends, Syreeta Davis (Tyrone), Schaefer Brock, and Mr. Randall and Jewel Wilkey. Special friends: Richard Hayes, Judy Taylor, Mrs. Cindy and her neighbors Corey & his wife, Thomas McNeill (Nicole), and Mrs. Mary. Beulah is survived by many other family members and friends.
