Ms. Brittany LaTosha King

Brittany LaTosha King, 34, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, passed away on July 29, 2024. Born on January 12, 1990, in Washington, DC, she was a cherished daughter, sister, granddaughter, and aunt. Brittany graduated from Needham Broughton High School in Raleigh, NC, and furthered her education at Pembrook University in Pembrooke, NC where she received her Bachelor Degree in Science. She built a fulfilling career in food services, where she was recognized multiple times for her exceptional customer service. An avid sports enthusiast, Brittany’s passion for the Dallas Cowboys was unmatched. She found joy in playing basketball, lounging at beaches and pools, and cherished the times spent with loved ones, especially enjoying meals at her mother’s house. Brittany loved taking her Dad to play pool. Brittany also had a special place in her heart for Izzy's Restaurant, where she celebrated many of life’s milestones with family and friends. Brittany is survived by her father, Victor King; mother, Cheryl Matthews; stepfather, James Matthews; sister, Shernell Hopkins; grandmothers, Annie K. Morris and Phyllis Adams; grandfather, Melvin Johnson of Miami, FL; Niece, Aaliyah Hopkins; Nephew, Prince Hopkins; Grand Aunts, Bernice Duncan King, Geneva, FL; Christine Hardy, Washington, DC, and Brenda King, Upper Marlboro, MD; Aunts: Valaria Green, Clinton, MD, Diane Morris, Virginia, Tawanna Roberson (Roy), Greensboro, NC, Annette Smith (Anthony), Fayetteville, NC, Cassanda Hill, Baltimore, MD; Uncles: Yul Sweet (Beverly), NY, Derrick Morris, VA, Lee Hill, Jr., (Millie) Elizabethtown, NC, Michael Morris (Melissa), FL., Irving Hill, Washington, DC, Michael Hill, Washington, DC. Brittany had a Host of Cousins and extended family. She was preceded in death by her great-great grandmothers, Eddie Mae King (Big Ma) and Rose Montaque; Grandfather, Jesse Adams; Nephew, Kaedyn Hopkins; Aunts, Dorothy Morris, Sheila Hill and Laverne Hill; Grand Aunt, Juanita King Harris, Grand Uncles, Charles King, James King and Billy King. Services to honor Brittany’s life will be held at Lafayette Memorial Park. Colvin Funeral Home of Fayetteville, North Carolina, is assisting the family during this time. Brittany’s vibrant spirit and infectious enthusiasm for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
