Mrs. Clarine Brooks

Mrs. Clarine Books, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Melton and Leah Arnette was born February 25, 1952 in Robeson County, Lumberton, North Carolina. She departed this life on February 15, 2025 at 5:30pm in Autumn Care Rehabilitation in Fayetteville, NC. She attended and graduated from Robeson County Public School. She earned several Certified Nursing Certificates and a Physical Therapy certificate. She retired as a certified nursing assistant/physical therapist at the Whispering Pine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fayetteville, NC. Clarine was raised in the church. Before moving to Fayetteville, she was a member of McCormick Chapel AME Church in Lumberton, NC. She sung on the church choir and usher board often she would be the lead the song. When she moved to Fayetteville, NC she attended Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church in Lumber Bridge, NC. She was a faithful member and joined the church choir. She took her duty as a member of the church choir very serious. If she could not make choir rehearsal on Saturday morning, especially when her health started to decline, she did not want to sing on Sunday (even though she knew the songs). Clarine was a special individual. She was loving, kind, and caring. She had a good heart. She was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and confidant to many people. She wanted everyone to get along. She did not see fault in people, she only saw the good. She will be dearly missed and not forgotten by many. Her husband preceded her in death: Mr. Nathaniel Brooks. Her daughter preceded her in death: Mrs. Clarice LaToya Clark. Four brothers preceded her in death: David Earl, Johnnie Melton (JM), James (Bunky) and Marshal Arnette. She leaves to cherish her loving memories: Mrs. Yolanda Michelle McAllister (Cory). grandchildren: Ariyanna Clark, Jasmin Adam, Destiny Baker, Justyce Baker, Sofia Hayden. Great grandchildren; Ava Adam, Laymelle Adam, Tramelle Adam, Legacy Thomas, Quinnton Clark, Michael O. Baker, Tresean Adam. siblings: Mrs. Lillian Moody (Clayvon), Mrs. Louise Kelly, Mrs. Naomi Rouse, Mrs. Ruth Robinson, Robert Arnette and Emmanuel Arnette, one sister-in-law: Gloria Arnette; two special friends: Mrs. Elsie Washington and Mrs. Anne Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
