Mrs. Eula M. Lewis

Mrs. Eula Mae Sinclair Lewis was born to Mr. Wade Sinclair and Mrs. Annie Mae Davis Sinclair on February 4, 1938 in Lumberton, North Carolina. She departed this earthly life at her home surrounded by her loving family on March 26, 2024. Mrs. Eula Mae Sinclair Lewis received her education through the Public Schools of Robeson County after which she married Thomas Heck Lewis and to their union three children were born. She was a kind and loving person who had a heart of gold. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Just as she was devoted to her family she was devoted to her employment and after twenty-five years of service she retired from Kayser Roth Hosiery. She was always an ambitious person and held the position Avon sales representative as well as Crystal sales representative for twenty plus years. Mrs. Eula Mae Sinclair Lewis accepted Christ at an early age and joined McCormick Chapel AME Church, where she faithfully served for over 30 years as President of the Senior Choir, Secretary of the Church, President of Class #1. She was a member of the church Finance Committee, and Missionary department until her health failed. She received the Outstanding Service Award for her church dedication. Mrs. Eula Mae Sinclair Lewis was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Wade Sinclair, her husband, Mr. Thomas Heck Lewis, her three children, Thomas, Vanessa and Charles, her grandson, Durant Howell and her siblings Mamie Lee Sinclair - Andrews, Gracie Mae McRae, and, James "Buck" Sinclair. Mrs. Eula Mae Sinclair Lewis legacy continues to live on and her memory is cherished by her grandchildren, Tommy Lewis (Laurie), Craig Lewis (Pam), LaQuetta Lewis, Tia Lewis, Justin Lewis, Brandon Lewis, Savannah Lewis, Robie Howell, Tanea Howell, Garrett Howell, Thomas Lee Lewis, Shalayna Lewis-Thompson (Maurice) and Jonathan Lewis. Twenty-five great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren, her daughters-in-law, Linda S. Lewis, and Felecia McRae, her son-in-law, Glenn Russell Howell, a special friend, Mrs. Daisy Mae Boykin, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
