Mr. Jeremiah Montgomery Goodson Jr.

Jeremiah Montgomery Goodson, Jr. (Chucky) was born on October 25, 1979 to Jerry and Bettie Goodson in Marion, South Carolina and departed this life on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center, Lumberton, North Carolina.Jeremiah accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age at United Pentecostal Church of Christ in Dillon, South Carolina. He later joined Cromartie Temple of Praise in Lumberton, North Carolina. Chucky attended Rowland and Lumberton Schools in North Carolina as a young child and graduated from Dilllon High School, South Carolina in 1998. Jeremiah also graduated from Bladen Community College, North Carolina with an Associate degree in Criminal Justice in May 2011. He was also attending Fayetteville State University to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and would have been graduating in December 2012. He was united in holy matrimony to Lametria E. Hueston and together they raised two children with a son on the way.Jeremiah was a faithful, trusted and worthy young man. He was loving, kind, peaceful and dependable even as a small child. He was a great father, loving husband and son. He loved people as God wanted him to. He played baseball, basketball, and football on recreation teams. He also played Junior League football at Lumberton Jr. High School. Jeremiah was chosen and performed on the All State Choir at the Civic Center in Lumberton, North Carolina.Jeremiah was a School Resource Officer at Lumberton Sr. High School and mentor to many young people. He started a fund for kids: Dream Plenty...Conquer Success. He was employed by the City of Lumberton (Public Works Department) on November 29, 2000 and later transferred to the E.U.D. Unit. He joined the Lumberton Police Department on June 14, 2006, where he served faithfully until his departure. Gone, but never forgotten. Preceding him in death are: his maternal grandparents, Luther Palmer, Sr. and Beulah Palmer; paternal grandfather, Henry B. Goodson; and mother-in-law, Elgerine Codrington.Left to mourn are: his beautiful queen, Lametria E. Goodson; a daughter, Jurnee Amiah Goodson (Little Thundercat); two sons, Tyrin Hueston and Josiah Malachi Goodson (unborn) all of the home; parents, Jerry and Bettie Goodson of Lumberton, NC; one sister, Isis A. Goodson; one brother, Joshua A. Goodson both of Lumberton, NC; grandmother, Katie B. Goodson of Dillon, SC; one sister-in-law, Benita Hueston of Durham, NC; father-in-law, Bandy Codrington of Hobbsville, NC; aunts, uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, god-children, other relatives and friends.May the work I’ve done speak for me!
