Mr. Jerry Roberts

Jerry “Butch” Roberts, son of Velma Brown and the late Willie Nicholson Jr, was born March 24,1955 in Robeson County, North Carolina. Jerry completed his primary and secondary education in Robeson County School system. Butch was a business owner, who ran his own Lawn and landscaping business; he worked as a DJ (Disc Jockey); he also worked at the following businesses: Converse Company for 15 years, Outer Banks for 25 years, and Smithfield Foods for 5 years. Finally, Butch retired, he spent his time caring for his yard and helping others. Jerry was a dear friend to many. He was always willing to help in any way he could. He visited many families and friends and loved hanging with his dear friend, Porter Liles. He loved fishing, hunting, and spending time watching tv and spending time with family and friends. He had a deep and abiding love for his wife, Rosie Roberts of 40 years and they cared for one another deeply with whom he shared and created many unforgettable memories. Jerry accepted Christ at an early age and was a man of God. He was known for his character, strength, and wisdom. Butch would often work quietly to help and assist others. He did not comment on his good deeds to others; he just did it without any expectations. Thursday evening on February 1, 2024, Mr. Jerry “Butch” Roberts transitioned from labor to reward. Butch was aware of his time on this earth which he accepted with the Lord’s peace. He was preceded in death by his father: Willie Nicholson Jr., brother: William Graham and sister: Brenda Jones. Butch lived a wonderful life surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his loving and supportive wife Rosie Roberts, his son David McIntyre, his mother: Velma Brown, 3 grandchildren: Shanique, Preston, Malia McIntyre and 1 great grandchild: Demarion Mitchell. 3 brothers: Ray (Deidra), Craig Roberts and Thurmond (Mary Ann) Roberts, 2 sisters: Verlisa Batiste, and Shirl Roberts. 7 nephews, and 4 nieces. Uncles: Muhammad Abdullah” Bill “(Marcia) and Leroy Jasper, David Roberts. Aunts: Mary Pearson and Foddie Roberts. Lendora Kearse, Jean Leach and Sally Nicholson. Mother-in-law, Mary Bostic. A host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
