Mr. Lewis Elwood Robinson

“Bless are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.”~ Matthew 5:4 Lewis Elwood DaRail Robinson was born on 9/13/1972 in Cumberland County and departed this life on June 18, 2023. He grew up attending Greater First Baptist Church with father and grandparents where he served on different auxiliary boards as a young man. Lewis was educated in Cumberland County N.C. and graduated from Cape Fear High School in 1991. He started working at a very young age. He worked at Burger King and would leave work and go across the street at Pizza Hut his second job. He was an entrepreneur that understood the value of money and hard work. He knew to have anything he would have to work for it. He worked at Public Works Commission for 18 years as a W/R Senior Utility Worker where he was known as Lew or Mr. Lewis. He always tried to improve his skills by getting certifications. He also studied his job at home because he took his work seriously. His managers shared that he was always smiling and talking about his grandbaby and his daughter. His crew would joke around with him, and he would be right there joking and laughing with them. His coworkers would give him deer meat and he would cut it up and cook it with his own recipes. He enjoyed making homemade recipes and bragging about how he prepared it. Those that grew up with Lewis always knew he kept a joke up his sleeve and could pull a prank on you in a minute. Lewis was united in Holy Matrimony to Sandra Pace on April 21, 1997, who he loved faithfully with all his heart. From this union one daughter Asia Elexis Robinson was born. When Asia was born family members say he had a notepad and wrote down word for word what the doctors were giving Sandra and Asia while in the hospital. He was such a great dad and protected the two of them. You wouldn’t see one without the other Asia could have anything she wanted, and he made sure that she wasn’t spoiled but he taught her early the value of money. Asia gave him the most precious gift of all which was his granddaughter Raelyn Denece Spencer. Raelyn was Pa-pa Baby. He would make her baby food everyday from his kitchen. He would always send Asia pictures of his gourmet meals he prepared for Pa-pa Baby. He enjoyed babysitting and spending time with Raelyn. When he came into the room Raelyn would reach for her Pa-pa and he was there to take her every time. He enjoyed buying his granddaughter lots of things just to see the smile on her face. Preceded in his death was his father Lewis Elwood Robinson, his grandparents Doris Henrietta and Harvey Robinson and Elvoir and Frank Fisher, his Aunt Julie Robinson Hardrick and Uncle Williford Robinson who he was very close with. He leaves to cherish his memories his mother Debbie Robinson Council (William), his daughter Asia Elexis Robinson, his stepdaughter Ashely S. Murrell and his granddaughter Raelyn Denece Spencer. His siblings: Debbie Helois Robinson, Sherrie McDonald, Solomon McNair, and Leondrea’ Robinson. His aunts: Hattie Williams (Chauncey) Pauletta Williams (Lorenzo), Loretta Clark, Marilyn Robinson, Ella Redden and Darlene Council. He shared a special bond with his Aunt Pauletta, she was not only his aunt, but she was his best friend. He would confide in her and their bond was unbreakable. He always bragged on his Aunt Pauletta and made sure she was always taken care of. Lewis and Sandra were the Godparents of Zarieya Williams and treated her just like their own. His uncle Lee Frank Fisher and a host of nephews, cousins, and friends.
