Ms. Mary Rogers Beard

Mary Rogers Beard, age 80 of Cumberland County, North Carolina passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounding by family on November 15, 2025; after battling complications from late stage dementia She was born on June 10, 1945, the only daughter of late Ernest Leach and Corinthia Leach. Mary was married at a young age to the late Eugene White and had two beautiful daughters: Kathy White-Jones and Bridget White. Though Mary and Eugene’s marriage did not last; their love and friendship they had for each other lasted to the end. And they raised two incredible daughters whom they were both proud of. During this time, Mary went back into the work force. She became a professional caregiver and personal chief. She then met the love of her life, the late Charlie Dean Beard and welcomed a daughter Kimberly White-Flowers. The couple married on January 14, 1992 and had a romance that lasted for decades. Throughout her life, Mary found strength in the gospel and maintained a personal devotion that was steady, humble, and sincere. She was a proud member of the Evangelical House of God. And was a member of their mother board missionaries. Grounded in her faith, prayers were often on her lips and in her heart for those she encountered. Mary found joy in meaningful conversations, reading, traveling, cooking, and staying connected to friends and family. She was courageous, inspirational, kind, loving, strong, a ball of fire that showed us what can be accomplished with determination and persistence. Her greatest joy of accomplishments was her love for her big family. She dedicated her life to caregiving to others and that gift was passed down to the next generation. In addition to her parents, she preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Beard of Kentucky; her brothers, Ernest Leach Jr, Charles Leach, Roy Leach, and Terry Leach of North Carolina. She was survived by: three daughters, Kathy White-Jones, Bridget White, and Kimberly White-Flowers of North Carolina; two brothers, Bobby Leach of Maine and Robert Leach of Philadelphia; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, along with other family and friends that will truly miss her.
