Ms. Monica Denise McNeill

Monica Denise McNeill was born May 04, 1970, to Mrs. Dorothy M. McNeill and the late Mr. Charles Edward McNeill in Cumberland County, North Carolina. She departed this life on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, peacefully in her home. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Edward McNeill and one brother, Bruce McNeill. Monica Denise McNeill accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the tender age of 7 at Beauty Spot Missionary Baptist Church in Fayetteville, NC. She graduated in 1988 from Seventy First High School in Fayetteville, NC. She went on to further her education at Robeson Community College in 2006 and In 2019 she attended Family Bible College of Fayetteville. Many in our community have come to know her for her infectious laugh, bright smile, and caring heart through their encounter with her at McDonald’s as a Manager. In her final days she was employed with Burlington Industries, now known as Elevate Textile. She was affectionately known as “Nana” by her grandchildren. Monica loved and cherished the relationship she had with all her family. But her grandchildren had an enormous place in her heart. Monica Denise McNeill leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Dorothy M. McNeill of the home. Two sons, Shawn Antonio McNeill, Kelvonta Jevone McMillian (Zanasha) both of Fayetteville, NC; Four daughters, Shamia Janee Holmes (Donquel) of Fayetteville, NC; Moniqua Nicole McNeill of Fayetteville, NC; Myrah Diane McNeill of Fayetteville, NC; Alexis Diona McNeill of Fayetteville, NC. She also raised two of her grandchildren (Makhia who she affectionately called “Khi” & Amarie who she affectionately called “Chip”); fifteen grandchildren; two sisters: Felicia R. McNeill and Tonya L. McNeill, both of Fayetteville, NC; three brothers: Gregory D. Shaw (Mary) of Raeford, NC, Kevin A. McNeill (Valerie) of Ramstein, Germany, Gerald A. McNeill of Fayetteville, NC; one great aunt Rosetta Holliday of Raeford, NC. Five aunts: Bertha McRae, Margie Melvin, Deloris McNeill, Deloris Clayton, Malinda Sinclair, and Maggie Hardy; one uncle, Nelson L. Shaw Jr.; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. A dear friend and sister, Kathy Willis.
