RET. CSM Pearlie Alston Jr.

Pearlie Alston, Jr was born March 31,1941, in Pittsboro, North Carolina to the late Pearlie Alston St. and Leomie Lee Alston. Pearlie accepted the Lord as his Savior and Christ at a young age at Mitchell Chapel A.M.E. Church. He graduated from Horton High School in 1958. He served three years as the Drum Major. Pearlie also played the drums, played baseball and basketball. After graduation, he joined the United States Army where he served proudly for 27 years. Pearlie attended Fayetteville State University, North Carolina A&T, Shaw University and Emmanuel University. He received a Doctorate Degree in Humanity from Emmanuel. Pearlie and Susie were married 26 wonderful years. They had unconditional love and respect for each other. They traveled together, laughed together and served others together. Through sickness and health he stood by Susie. He loved and cared so deeply for Susie. Taking care of Susie was his most important mission. Pearlie sold insurance after retiring from the military. He later became the Assistant Vice President at Nations Bank for 5 years before leaving to sell real estate. At the encouragement of his devoted wife Susie, Pearlie received his real estate license and later became a Real Estate Broker. Pearlie had a very successful realty career. He received numerous awards and accolades. Pearlie was always happy to share his knowledge with his colleagues and friends. Pearlie loved the Lord with all his heart. He joined Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a Trustee, Deacon, and Male Usher Board, Vacation Bible School Host. Pearlie is a Master Mason, Grand Inspector General, and Honorary Past Imperial Potentate (HPIP) with the Shriners. He served fifteen years on the Veterans Drill Team. Past Potentate Alston was appointed NC Desert Organizer and served as North Carolina Desert Advisor. Pearlie's skills and military training proved beneficial when serving as the NC Desert Advisor. Post Potentate Alston served 37 years as an Noble. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Ella Mae (Jasper) Allen, Clara Alston, sister in law, Clementine Alston. Pearlie leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife Susie, children Antonio Alston, Burlington, North Carolina, Sabrina M. Brinson (Morton) Mableton, GA, Valarie Joseph, Raleigh, NC, Russell Joseph (Kelly), Raleigh, NC. Grandchildren: Tarik A. Alston, Quinita James, Sabrina Whitted, Caleb A. Brinson, and Byrce Joseph, and Connor Alston. Two brothers, Gene A. Alston (Annie Margaret) of Pittsboro, NC, and Ernest L. Alston of Fayetteville, NC; two nieces, Allyson A. Alston, Greensboro, NC, Anaya A. (Kris) Chavious of Huntersville, NC, three nephews, Anthony A. Alston of Pittsboro, NC, Allen A. Alston (Pricilla) of Siler City, NC, and Morrison Alston Neville of Pittsboro, NC; A special Goddaughter Destiny J. Watson, Fayetteville, NC and a host of relatives and friends.
