Mr. Shawn "Dee" McNeill

Master Shawn McNeill (31) affectionately known as “Diesel” by his family and “Smooth” by his motorcycle ministry, “One Down Five Up”, was born on April 22, 1992 to Effice McNeill Jr. and Rev. Judy P. McMillian in Columbus County. He departed this life and entered eternal rest on April 9, 2024. Master Shawn D was educated in the Public Schools of Robeson County. He was employed at Spartan Nash of Lumberton, North Carolina and his work ethics there inspired other young men. However, Master Shawn’s real passion was working at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church as Lead Musician. Master McNeill played the Keyboard with such enthusiasm that made the whole church get excited and join into the service. Master Shawn was so musically inclined and gifted that when no drummer was in attendance, he would play the drums and keyboard at the same time. Master Shawn McNeill was united in holy matrimony to LaPrincia TaMise Baker on August 27, 2022. Shawn surprised his bride with a beachside wedding and a reception that was held at the OceanVilla Resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with all of their family members present. The happy couple decided to make their home in Lumberton, NC. Master Shawn D was preceded in death by his great grandparents; RD and Mattie Thompson; two grandfathers; Franklin Manning and James McNeill; one grandmother; Ruby McNeill; his brother; Effice Lamont McNeill; one uncle; Levon McNeill; three great aunts; Betty Williams, Carolane McCrae, and Mary Taylor; and two great uncles; Robert Thompson (Bob) and Gerald Thompson. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, LaPrincia McNeill of the home; his son, Sean’Quavious McNeill; his parents, Pastor Judy (Charles) McMillian, and Effice (Susan) McNeill Jr; one brother, Effice (Stormy) McNeill; three sisters, Sis. LaCretia (Rufus) McMillan, Courtney McMillian, and Sis. Chyra (Anthony) Buie; his children by marriage, Bro. Tamoric Oliver, JaQuese Graham, and Travaria Lesane; his grandmother, Sis. Alice Campbell; his grandfather-in-law, Bro. Thurston (Annie Ruth) Baker; his mother-in-law, Tammy Rowdy; two aunts, Linda McNeill and Geneva McNeill; three uncles; David (Darlene) Poole, James McNeill and Larry (Flora) McNeill; three great aunts; Rev. Joyce (Ellis) Hill, Sis. Virginia (Timothy) Nealy, and Sis. Angela Thompson; four great uncles; Preston (Grace) Davis, Rev. Tommy Thompson, RD Thompson Jr., Elder Randy (Min. Sylvia) Thompson; one brother-in-law, Greg Rowdy; one sister-in-law; Taymeeyah Rowdy. He also leaves one grandchild; Naiari Taylor; one goddaughter; Nikeyra Robinson; one godson; Kingsley Hill and one godmother; Rev.Cora McCall and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,friends and a host of other relatives and friends
