Annie Thompson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Annie Pierce Thompson, daughter of the late Robert Shepard Pierce and the late Lorine Ellis Pierce was born on September 21, 1951, in Robeson County. She was called to glory on Sunday, May 22, 2022 after a battle with cancer. Annie attended schools in Rowland, NC and worked as a supervisor at Jensen for many years before earning her Business Administration degree and Nursing degree at Robeson Community College She met and married her high school sweetheart, Lee Junior Thompson, on June 23, 1971. Annie confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior early in life and joined Hilly Branch Baptist Church where she served faithfully on the Usher board and choir. She was always willing to talk about the Lord to any and everyone who would listen. She enjoyed reading her bible and listening to gospel music. She was ALWAYS “prayed up” and kept a smile on her face. Anyone who knew her knew she was a fighter, and she was very strong-willed. She was good at masking her pain and relying on the Lord for her strength. Her smile was infectious, and she always had encouraging words. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers; Willie Ray, Robert Jr, James Evans, and Jacky Wilson as well as a sister; Rosa. She leaves to cherish her precious memories; her son Robert Thompson of Lumberton, NC, three daughters: Yolander Thompson of Greensboro, NC, JoAnna Thompson of Rowland, NC, and Lorraine Pierce of Greensboro, NC., three grandchildren: Samantha, Sheketia, and Shawnyee’ all of Greensboro, NC, two great grandchildren: Saniyah and Peyton of Greensboro, NC. Siblings Bishop Shepard Pierce, Malcolm Pierce and Maggie Harley all of Lumberton, NC, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
