    Mr. Billie Thompson

    September 14, 1949 - May 27, 2021

    I fought a good fight and kept the faith; I am ready now to be offered up” Billie Thompson, Sr. entered into eternal rest 5:31pm May 27, 2021 at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC. He was the son of the late Bennie McArthur, Sr. and Annie B. Dixon. Bill confessed Christ at an early age and joined New Zion United Methodist Church where he served faithfully as the Sunday School superintendent for many years, trustee, member of the John A. Campbell Gospel Choir, his favorite song was “I want to be at the Meeting” and a member of Antioch Lodge #133. Bill graduated from Southside High School in 1967. He was best known as “Billie Bird”. He was loved by so many people. He was employed with Prestige Farms for many years. He was preceded in death by is sister, Geraldine Patterson, and a special nephew, Glenn Patterson whom he helped raise. He leaves to cherish his memories, six daughters; Toni (Dexter) Williams, Maudrica Mitchell, Sebrina Thompson, Nicole Moser, Latishia Thompson and Billie Thompson, sixteen grandchildren, twelve greatgrandchildren, six sisters: Betty McNair, Doris McArthur, Rosa L. McArthur, Connie Adams, Carolyn Crane and Lenise Fourcalt, two brothers; William McArthur and Bennie Mc Arthur, Jr. a special friend, Louise Cade, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
