    Dr. Brenda Haynes

    October 30, 1963 - October 2, 2021

Dr. Brenda Haynes was born on October 30, 19663 to Thurman and Betty Smith of Fayetteville NC. She departed this life on October 1, 2021. She received her high school diploma from Terry Sanford High School. She received her bachelor’s degree from Fayetteville State University and her master’s degree from Garner Webb University. Brenda retired from Cumberland County Schools after working for 33 years at both Terry Sanford High School and E. E. Smith School. She was loved by many students, teachers, and the community alike. One of her greatest joys was her church family Revival Time Ministries. “The wagons are coming”, is the church motto. Revival Time Ministries was established in October 2010. There were many souls brought to the kingdom because of the call on her life. She never met a stranger and always extended her hands to help in any way she could. Her testimony was she loved people. She always shared whatever she had whether it was vacations, clothing, shoes, anything a person might need or just want. She truly will be missed by friends and family. She was full of fun and laughter and loved to sing. She made a song out of anything. There is a large hole in the family because of her transition. All whom have met her sings her praises just like the Proverbs 31 woman we call her blessed. Proceeding her in death, her father Thurman Smith, sister Elizabeth Walton, and brother-in-law James Haynes. She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband John Haynes of 34 years, her mother Betty Smith, daughter Andrea, a special son Shaquille Anderson, and grandson Kamahl Glenn, all of Fayetteville, North Carolina. She also leaves 3 sisters, Delmethia (Davis) of Richmond VA, Patricia (Joseph) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Regina “Debbie’ (Terry) of Jacksonville, Florida. Also 3 brothers, Thurman Jr (Dorothy) of Fayetteville, NC, John Edward (Darlene) of Fayetteville NC and Daniel Smith (Rozy) of Kuwait and Michael of Charlotte, NC. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
