Mr. Dwight “Dmac” Taylor McBryde of Lumberton, North Carolina departed this life on January 23rd, 2022, at Southeastern Regional Hospital. He was born on August 24th, 1964, in Robeson County to the late Luther & Mary Patterson McBryde. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jacqueline Kershaw, and mother-in-law Georgianna Mitchell. He graduated from Red Springs High School in 1982. After high school, Dwight attended Robeson Community College where he graduated with his Associates degree in Carpentry. On August 22, 1984, Dwight went into the Navy and served until December 1st, 1987. After completing his Navy duties, he was employed by West Point Stevens for 20 years. When the plant closed Dwight then enrolled in Fayetteville Technical Community College and earned his Associates in HVAC. Dwight married Sheila Mitchell on April 20th, 1985. He was a devoted husband/father and loving brother. Dwight was truly a jack of all trades. He was a businessman, a mechanic, handyman and gifted musical mogul, in the words of his siblings he was truly a “Pitt’s Boy”. As everyone knew he had a passion for music and sound engineering for which he continued to do until his untimely passing. He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife of 36 years, Sheila Mitchell McBryde; eight children, Quentin (Shanta) McBryde of Lillington, NC, Alisha McBryde of Red Springs, NC, Briana McBryde of Kannapolis, NC, Trinity McBryde of the home, Taylor (Kwamai) McRae, Ryan McBryde of Fayetteville, NC, Zyquez McBryde and Zaiya McBryde both of the home; nine grandchildren; 15 siblings; William Glenn, Hattie Tew both of Red Springs, NC, James (Wendy) McBryde of Philadelphia, PA, Donald (Janice) McBryde of Fayetteville, NC, Connie McBryde of New Port News, VA, Deborah (John) Brown, John (Deborah) McBryde both of Raeford, NC, Bertha (Cavin) Wilson of Maxton, NC, Hazel McBryde of McDonough, GA, Bobby McBryde, Lottie Flores, Ella Bostic all of Lumberton, NC, James Patterson, Jerry McDowell Jr both of Parkton, NC, and Tanika (Todd) Murray of Fayetteville NC; his father in law Alfred Mitchell Sr of Rowland, NC; eight in laws; Vivian McCallum of Charlotte, NC, Alfred (Marcella) Mitchell Jr of Dillon, SC, Viola (John) Davis of Maxton, NC, Gale (Linwood) Durant , Michael Mitchell, Christopher (Anissa) Mitchell all of Lumberton, NC, Kembera (Joseph) Staton of Raleigh, NC; two living aunts; Flora Jane McBryde of Red Springs, NC and Ola Mae McBryde of Maxton, NC; a special friends James Williams of Red Springs, NC, James Greene of San Diego, CA and Edric Gowdy of (CA/AL) US Navy; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and special friends.
