    Ms. Machele Laverne Scott

    February 4, 1967 - April 18, 2021

Machele Laverne Scott was a cherished and beloved child of God who gracefully transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Sunday April 18, 2021. Machele, fondly known as Porsche, was born February 4, 1967 in North Carolina to Gillespie J. Scott and the late Julia Ann Scott. She is from a line of very Spiritual Christian family of servants. Machele attended Westover and graduated from Douglas Byrd High School. She later went on to attend Fayetteville Technical Community College. Her love for travel introduced her to the world of cruise lining where she worked for Carnival Cruise Line as a Children’s Director for several years. Machele fell in love with cooking and started her own business, “Shelly’s Sweet and Savory Homemade Goods”. Her business started from the ground up where she took every opportunity to market her business from going door- to-door, flagging people down in her car and telling them about her wonderful sweet potato pies. She even started her started her own U Tube cooking channel. Machele had a voice like a song bird and a personality that was so uplifting and bigger than life. She never met a stranger that she didn’t instantly make friends with and she always showed compassion to those in need. Her characteristics will leave an ever-lasting impression on all of us. Machele is preceded in death by her loving mother Julia Scott and an older brother Jimmy J. Lanaux who adored his baby sister “Shelly”. All three are now rejoicing together and walking around the heavenly kingdom. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving devoted father Gillespie J. Scott, her two sisters and Paquita Lanaux Jennings and Brenda Lanaux Jennings, nephews Ryan Omar Lanaux, Larry Alvin Stevens III “Trey” and Brendan Scott Stevens and a host of family and friends. She lalso eaves behind, her beloved dog Maya, to remind us of her loving spirit and to watch over us. Machele (Shelly) rest in peace.
