    Mr. Scottie L Alford

    June 15, 1970 - August 12, 2021

Scottie Lynn Alford was born in Fayetteville North Carolina to Leroy Joe Alford and Mary McMillian Alford on June 15, 1970. Scottie received his education in the Cumberland County School Systems while growing up in the Cross Creek Court/ Grove View Terrace Community where he affectionately was known as “Scottie World” “Big World”. Scottie worked various jobs through the years also relocating to Charlotte NC. He never forgot about the love and family bonds established and remaining with his GVT/Ave family that later lead him to return home. Scottie was extremely loved by his Ave brotherhood which is evident today. Through all childhood friendships an unconditional love and bond was established between two of Scottie’s GVT/Ave “homeboys”, Marlos Hill better known as “LOS” and William McKeithan better known as “TIC”. Scottie was a man of many talents, but his greatest two talents were in the kitchen as an awesome chef and the ability to sing with a voice that stood out like many of the greats. He was a gentle giant with a voice like a heavenly angel. On August 12, 2021 while in the comforts of the home he shared with his brother Marlos Scottie took his last breath, silencing his voice of kindness, laughter, and jokes forever on this side of life. Although we are saddened by his sudden departure, we take comfort in knowing he has been reunited in heaven wit his greatest love, his mother Mrs. Mary “Jackie” Alford. Scottie was preceded in death by his mother Mary McMillian Alford in 2002 . Scottie Lynn Alford leaves to cherish his memories, two brothers Marlos Hill and William McKeithan both of Fayetteville NC. His aunt Judy Gachette of Hiram, Georgia. Uncle Lindbergh Shipman of Charleston SC, one special cousin Ms. Connie Shipman of Clayton NC, along with a host of Shipman cousins. Ms. Mabel Townsend who remained as a strong presence of motherly guidance in Scottie’s life due to family bonds with Ms. Jackie, Irish Hill who was a God mother figure in his life. She helped him to take better care of his physical health, while preparing Sunday meals that Scottie took part of as one of her own sons. He also leaves to forever cherish his memories, his GVT/Ave family and a host of family and friends.
