Mr. Alonzo R. Harris

Mr. Alonzo Rudolph Harris, age 55, of Fayetteville, NC passed away on Thursday morning October 23, 2025. Born on July 5, 1970 in Okinawa, Japan, he was the beloved son of the late Rudolph and Catherine Harris. Affectionately known as “Lonnie” or “Zo”, he was a straightforward man who spoke with purpose and honesty. Devoted to his sons, friends, and his work, his life stood as a true testament to all who knew and understood him. Mr. Alonzo was educated in the Cumberland County School System and proudly graduated from Seventy-First High School. A man of many trades, he earned numerous certifications through Fayetteville Technical Community College, including OSHA, Communication and Cabling, and Lift Truck Operation. He also received additional certifications from Robeson Community College in Air Conditioning, Carpentry, and Electronics. He was a man of faith who kept a connection with God through prayer. Alonzo was a dedicated and hardworking man who took great pride in everything he did. His strong work ethic and determination allowed him to excel in every position he held, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues wherever he worked. Above all, Alonzo found his deepest joy in his family. He held a profound love for his sons, Justin and Josh, nurturing and guiding them with unwavering devotion. He also cherished his parents, treasuring the bond and wisdom they shared throughout his life. Family was the cornerstone of his heart, and his love for them shone in everything he did. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Rudolph J. and Catherine Harris, his grandparents, Nathan and Ola Mae Johnson, and two uncles, Eddie and Walter Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memory his sons Justin and Joshua Harris (Fayetteville, NC), a special friend, Michelle Clark (Raeford, NC), three aunts, Frances Blair (Pensacola, FL), Quiency L. Johnson (Columbus, Ga), Revenia J. Johnson (Pensacola, FL), an Uncle Nathan Johnson (Atlanta, Ga) and a host of cousins, relatives, his loving dog Major and friends. Mr. Alonzo Harris will be remembered for his love of fishing and cooking, his ability to bring smiles to everyone around him, and his straightforward, no-nonsense approach to life. He had a playful way of referring to those who couldn’t drive as “country,” always adding humor to everyday moments.
