Mrs Heather Oliver

Mrs. Heather Ann Oliver was born in March of 1977 in Warren, Michigan and the world has never been the same since. She earned her high school diploma from Andress High School in Northeast El Paso, Texas and became a certified Phlebotomist, subsequently choosing to focus on raising her beautiful family. The name “Heather” actually refers to a variety of small shrubs with pink or white flowers which commonly grow in rocky areas. Her name fit her origins. Heather contained multitudes. Heather was a Wife and Mother, a Daughter, a Sister, an Animal Lover, an Entrepreneur, a Phlebotomist, a Performer, a Creative. A friend. Everything she did she went at with full energy, love and conviction. You can see that hear from her children, the family and the many friends that share her memory. Heather also loved her God. She was a woman of faith. Her love for the Holy Spirit impressed me early. I never saw her without her faith. Ever. Heather was love, empathy, and kindness. She was a woman of great spirit who did everything for others to ensure they felt seen and heard and validated. She gave of herself until the very end. Heather has made friends and family wherever she went. She had friends that are basically family in California that raise her name high. And in other states such as New Mexico, Texas, Michigan, Arkansas, Washington State, North Carolina, to name but a few. Her impact was felt by people that never knew her through her husband, her children, her brother and her coworkers. Whenever a warm ray of sunshine hits your face on a cold grey day, that’s Heather. One of Heather’s favorite books was by Tupac Amaru Shakur, The Rose That Grew From Concrete. One of her favorite shows was the Golden Girls. These things filled her spirit on her low days. Her favorite flowers were mums. She loved working with her hands and even recently built a deck by hand just because she wanted to. She loved comedy (Redd Foxx, Richard Pryor, Robin Williams, BET Comicview, Bernie Mac), she loved ferrets and dogs. She loved to fish and to tell jokes. She loved adopting pets, especially homeless ones, and making them feel wanted. She had a wonderful crooked smile that was pure love. Biggie was her favorite rapper, and she had a fondness and appreciation for the parables and life lessons contained in the volumes of Jay Z, Tupac, and Eminem (she was a Detroit girl after all), Lauryn Hill, Missy Elliot, Wu Tang Clan, Dr Dre and Snoop, but she loved New Kids on the Block and Madonna in the ’80s and early ’90s. She loved Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom. She loved Elvis and Sinatra. Her team was, is, and always will be the Detroit Pistons. One of her favorite memories is of her and her Grandfather playfully arguing whether the Chicago Bulls or Detroit Pistons were better. I’m glad they are able to continue having that conversation now. Heather (who was Tim’s Queen) was a leader and teacher. Whether it be her daughter Ashlee (forever her daughter and always will be) who is her mini-me and who is already beginning to carry on her legacy of self growth, education and progress, her son Christian (her baby boy and first born) who is enjoying the same process of figuring out this wonderful thing called life, or Her Husband, Timothy (her King and love of her life). I know Heather prepared this family for the future. With a little bit of love, support, and direction, there is nothing these three cannot accomplish. Heather taught everyone how to create something out of nothing. Heather’s life represents so many things: love, struggle, overcoming, humility, grief, joy, and success. Let her life be a beacon that even though you may have challenges, with all the above, and by God’s grace and a little luck, you can overcome just like her. Heather is survived by Timothy O’neal Oliver (husband), Ashlee Oliver (daughter), Christian Oliver (son), Sondra Steers (mother), Mr. Cleothoes Oliver (deceased), paternal grandparent), Mr. and Mrs. West (Linda and Joseph), Stephen Boles and Heidi Staub (brother and sister-in-law), the Rudolphs (Jim Rudolph, Cynthia McBride and Jim McBride), she was preceded in death by Shirley Ann Cramer (maternal grandmother), Grandpa (Clyde Cramer), Harry Schnitzer (family friend), Nanny and Pampa (Rudolph, maternal great-grandparents to Shirley), Raven (her loyal dog), Rocky (her loyal dog), Touser (her loyal dog), Chi Chi (a crabby loyal dog), Pedro (a homeless dog she took in and gifted to her brother).
