Ms. Janaha Anasari Elaine Smith

The precious life of Janaha Anasari Elaine Smith was called to her final resting place on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. She received her gold wings at the age of 27. She was born on Monday, January 5, 1998 in Fayetteville, North Carolina to her parents, Desmond and Ebony (Thrist) Smith. She was the second oldest out of eight siblings, consisting of seven girls and one boy. Janaha lived in North Carolina for her first year of life with her parents and her oldest sister. The family relocated back to Buffalo New York at the age of 18 months. There she attended Charter School of Applied Technology for elementary and middle school. She was a ray of light for anyone she felt needed a smile or a hug. Janaha was an active member of many academic clubs, such as the junior honor Society receiving several awards for academic achievements. She was very energetic and participated in multiple school sports. She enjoyed being on the school's basketball team, soccer team and softball team. Outside of school she was a cheerleader for the little league teams and a member of the Girl Scouts. Janaha grew as a young lady touching many hearts bonding and creating several lifelong friends in Buffalo, where she spent most of her early years. Janaha's family relocated back to Fayetteville, North Carolina at the age of 11. She attended Pine Forest Middle School and Pine Forest High school. She actively participated in academic clubs, sports activities, and the chorus. During her high school years she was part of the honor Society, the Academy of Emergency Medical Science, and Early college of FTCC. At her high school graduation, she received many academic cords for academic success and several scholarships to attend college. During those years, Janaha grew as a loving, caring, silly, respectful, and responsible young lady and also created life long friendships with people that surrounded her. The things Janaha enjoyed the most was family gatherings, hugging people, silly kisses, and bullying her siblings lovingly with good intentions. As a young child, Janaha was very business minded, love to read, draw and do puzzles. Her favorite puzzle was the sudoku. She was always helpful when it came to caring for and keeping her younger siblings on track in school and in line at home. When facing any challenge that she was unsure of the outcome she would stop, take a moment, bite her bottom lip, think for a moment, then jump on a solution. She can truly be described as a "giving soul". If she saw someone else in need of something no matter what it was: a dollar, some food, a sweater, a place to live, and she had it or could obtain it, she gave it even if it took away from her. No matter how her day was going she was able to greet anyone with her big beautiful smile and embrace them lovingly. Everyone was loved by Janaha. She truly believe there was good in everyone and would stick by anyone waiting for the good to prevail. Janaha was always very spirited, full of joy, and optimistic about most things in life. As a young adult, Janaha worked in the medical field as a CNA. She enjoyed helping others and took pride in the care she provided. After several years in the medical field she switched career paths and worked in warehouse production. She was always a hard, dedicated worker that took pride in anything she did and made friends along the way. Celebrating and cherishing her life and memories she leaves: her parents, Desmond and Ebony Smith, seven siblings: six sisters- Janaé Vance, Emani Smith, Deja Chavis (William), DesZari Smith, Esharia Smith, Sahara Smith, and one brother - Andrue Smith, four nephews and one niece: Cameron Edwards, Sincere Jackson, E’yonna Mitchell, Cayeden Edwards, Kenai Chavis. Although she had no children, she leaves to cherish her memory, her god-children who she cherished, loved and helped raise as her own. Also, her fur babies: Kratos (her loving dog), Xana (her sweet cat), and little mama (her sweet guinea pig), her grandmothers, grandfathers, great-grandfather, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and close friends.
