Mrs. Marilyn Katherine McNair

Marilyn Katherine Pierce McNair, born on June 9, 1947, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, peacefully departed this life to be with her Savior on September 19, 2024. She was the beloved daughter of the late James Elijah Pierce Sr. and Eleanor Lartha Faircloth Pierce. Marilyn was educated in the Cumberland County School System and graduated from E.E. Smith High School in 1966. A devoted member of St. Luke AME Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina, she served as a choir member for many years, living her life deeply rooted in her faith. Prior to her retirement, Marilyn completed her professional career at United Uniform Services in Fayetteville, NC. In celebrating Marilyn's life, we are reminded of the profound impact she had on all who knew her. She embodied compassion, strength, and kindness, and lived with integrity and generosity. Marilyn embraced life with a heart full of love, cherishing her family, friends, and community. She dedicated herself to making a lasting difference in the lives of those around her. Marilyn was a devoted and loving wife to John McNair. Their marriage was filled with shared joy, unwavering support, and countless cherished memories. The deep love she had for John was one of the most beautiful aspects of her life, and their bond will forever stand as an example of enduring love. As the sister of Margaret Pierce Williams of Fayetteville, NC; Shirley Pierce Mack (Artemus) of Fayetteville, NC; James Pierce Jr. of Fayetteville, NC; Raymond Vincent Pierce (Sherene) of Fayetteville, NC; and Obie Bullock of Fayetteville, NC, Marilyn held a special place in the hearts of her siblings. She was also deeply cherished by her many nieces, nephews, and in-laws, who loved and admired her. Whether through her boundless generosity, calming presence, or infectious laugh, she brought light into their lives. Her family will forever remember her as a friend, confidant, and source of strength. Though Marilyn’s presence will be deeply missed, her memory will live on through the lives she touched, the love she shared, and the lasting legacy of kindness, compassion, and strength she leaves behind. As we reflect on her life, we hold dear the lessons she taught us and the love she gave so freely. Though she may be gone, Marilyn will never be forgotten by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
