MSGT Samuel Allen Jr.

Samuel William Allen Jr. Born on 5 January, 1944 in Atlanta, Georgia and was the oldest Child of Samuel William Allen Sr. and Willie May Allen (Hayes). He was called home to glory to be in the presence of the Lord on 4 May 2024. He was 80 years young. His first wife and mother of his eldest 3 children, Shirlene Allen, Second Wife and mother of his youngest son, Sarah Allen, and both Parents preceded him in his final day. Sam, or “Al” as many would call him. Graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Atlanta Georgia in 1962. Shortly after, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he honorably served 24 years and achieved the Rank of Master Sargent (E7). He served many tours overseas including Vietnam, Korea, Thailand, and England then finally landing and retiring in 1986 in Spring Lake, NC. He said his time during his enlistment with the Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, was his most rewarding time during his career. After retirement, he worked various places as a supervisor in the textile industry. As an avid fisherman, fishing was his biggest and best past time. He often would say... “The point of fishing was not to catch fish, but to enjoy the time spent fishing...” He loved to laugh, loved signing gospel music, and spent a few years in as a young man, singing in the Gospel Group, “The Gospelaires...” He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Jennifer Allen, His Brothers and Sisters: Martin Allen, Terry Allen, Beverly Sellers, and Richard Alan. His children: Virgil Allen, Vanessa Lewis, Valissa Allen, Fredrick Stovall, Nigel Allen, and Ashley Maddox. His Grandchildren: Temeka Madox, Christian Lewis, Christopher Lewis, Christina Lewis, Kierra (Shelton) Murray, Levoski (Alexandra) Brown Jr., Antonio Davis, Natalle Stovall, Samaria Allen, Samira Allen, Jessie Ellison Jr., and Jonathan Ellison. His Great-Grandchildren: Alton Price Jr., Jaiden Murray, Kayden Murray, Maverick Brown, Trevious Foote, Adrain Brookins, TyLiyah Smith, Emmonds Thompson, Ean Thompson, Christian Lewis Jr., and Chase Lewis. And Great-Great Grandchild: Jaxsyn Foote. His life was filled with love and amazing people who loved him dearly. Sam was a devoted and loving husband, a great father, a sincere friend, a caring brother, and a wonderful and generous Grandpa... He will forever be missed.
